Sales Rep, Consultative

Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States Full-time Allows remote


The Consultative Sales Representative meets home school customers, demonstrates company products, and closes sales at trade shows, in small group environments, on live webinars, over the phone and email, or by other means, locations, and markets.



  • Can work remotely from a home-office or from our Lititz, PA headquarters (near Lancaster Airport)
  • Scheduled hours will normally be Mon-Fri 8 hours/day between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm
  • Periodic weekends with overnight travel to conferences and trade shows between March and August



  • Base salary between $35,000 - $60,000 annually

Company and product knowledge

  • Become knowledgeable of company history, mission, vision, and products
  • Maintain knowledge as products are revised and/or new products are introduced

 Contact, sell, and close

  • Interact with customers to demonstrate products and close sales via phone and in person
  • Document interactions in CRM software/database
  • Serve as event liaison as outlined by liaison processes and procedures when assigned

 Nurture relationships

  • Contact customers to ensure satisfactory purchase experience; troubleshoot problems, if necessary; share information with Sales Manager
  • Attempt to sell additional products
  • Ask for home school and referrals

  • High School diploma, homeschool preferred



  • Highly effective interpersonal skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Ability to travel multiple weekends (Thursday – Sunday) during March through August
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
  • The ability to grasp mathematical concepts and to explain complex concepts in practical terms



  • 3 years’ sales experience, preferably in educational sales or similar
  • History of effectively handling retail transactions through point of sale systems



  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Overnight travel to company functions
  • Speaking on the phone and in person
  • Extensive typing on QWERTY style keyboard and viewing of lighted computer monitor
  • Reaching, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
