GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Project Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of the creation, launch, and updates of PreK-12, print and digital, educational products services.

 

LOCATION & SCHEDULE

  • Works out of Lititz, PA headquarters (near Lancaster Airport)
  • Scheduled hours will be Mon-Fri 8 hours/day between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm

Company, product, and industry knowledge responsibilities

  • Become knowledgeable of company history, mission, vision, and products
  • Maintain knowledge of company products as they are developed
  • Keep up to date with best practices in project management

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Work with project sponsors to create plans for a variety of product and system development projects seeking formal approvals whenever necessary
  • Define goals and objectives for project plans
  • Organize resources and deliverable schedules for project plans
  • Select project team members from across all of the organization for each project and manage the project team toward the defined objectives
  • Execute projects according to the plan using selected teams and resources making adjustments as needed
  • Communicate the status and progress of projects as-needed ensuring that sponsors and various types of stakeholders receive appropriate updates
  • Review the quality of work with individual project team members to ensure adherence with expected standards
  • Mediate project team conflicts
  • Monitor the financial staus of projects and provide cashflow and variance reports to project sponsors and the Director of Finance on a monthly basis or as otherwise needed
  • Maintain required financial records for each project and provide reports to project funders as needed
  • Submit vendor invoices for payment in a timely manner
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors degree in a related field preferred
  • Project Management Certifications - PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar

 

SKILLS NEEDED

  • Creativity in solving problems and adjusting plans to increase effectiveness or adjust to unforeseen events
  • Effectiveness using a variety of communication tools and styles
  • Leadership in fostering cooperation by positively influencing team members
  • Sound decision-making ability

 

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

  • 2+ years managing related projects
  • Product development in curriculum publishing (K-12 preferred)
  • Exposure to home education preferred
  • Project portfolio or other demonstrable body of work
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency in one or more pieces of Project Management software
  • Experience with web conferencing tools primarily Adobe Connect and/or Google Hangout
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Working knowledge of a Learning Management System (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)

  • Extensive typing on QWERTY style keyboard
  • Extensive viewing of lighted computer monitor
  • Reaching and bending
  • Speaking on telephone
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs.
